care home resident, Bill, recently celebrated his 90th birthday this year with us at our home in Haywards Heath
, on Saturday 25th March.At Walstead Place
, we feel like one big family and we love to make birthdays a special event for our residents, their families and friends and are always pleased to help plan social occasions bringing people together. After discussion with Bill on what he would like to do, we hosted an afternoon tea and buffet and were delighted to welcome twenty five of his guests to our home, including Bill's relatives and friends.A special and very delicious birthday cake was also baked specially by Lin Dennis, one of Walstead’s
catering team as part of the day’s events. We hosted the birthday celebrations in our conservatory and as the weather was so good on the day, with the sun shining and the warm weather, the room was full of sunlight making it extra special. It was a day of glowing tributes for Bill and everyone had a really nice time; people were chatting and laughing, and there was a real sense of joy in celebrating this special day with Bill. Bill had a great day being fussed over and enjoying being the centre of attention.Richard, one of Bill’s son’s said:“Thanks for all your efforts. Food was perfect. It was a great success.”To top it off, now he has turned 90 years, Bill now can make claim to membership of the exclusive nonagenarian club. Many Happy Returns Bill, from all of us at Walstead Place.
