‘Words of Wisdom’ at Tall Trees

Tall Trees will be hosting a discussion with their residents and local schoolchildren on 19th May called ‘Words of Wisdom.’

Some weeks ago, residents were asked to pen their ‘words of wisdom’ and these were duly sent to the Year 6 children at Wychwood School, our local primary school.

On 19th May at 1pm, the children will be visiting the home to talk about these with the residents – and enjoy a pudding with them, as its lunch time!

Words of wisdom to be discussed include:

  • Be honest
  • Love your family
  • Love and respect others and yourself
  • Live every moment

“I chose this event in respect for “Dementia Awareness Week” and because our residents love having the children around. I know this will be an amazing opportunity for them to share a part of their life experiences with the young ones. And when you have puddings involved too… I am sure that everybody will love it!”

Residents and our care team are eagerly looking forward to welcoming the schoolchildren to Tall Trees.

Tall Trees are proud to be supporting Dementia Awareness Week which is supported by the Alzheimer’s Society. The Alzheimer’s Society is a UK charity which provides support and research for those affected by dementia.

Hundreds of thousands of families are touched by dementia every year and by raising awareness about this condition, it is hoped that more people will be diagnosed earlier, giving more time for them to come to terms with future symptoms.
