Walstead Place helping Macmillan change lives

At Walstead Place, we held a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for our residents, relatives and friends to help support Macmillan and make sure no one has to face cancer alone.

The event was really successful and lots of fun. There was a fabulous selection of delicious cakes to savour, kindly baked by our Chef and guests and we all tucked in with enthusiasm along with tea, coffee and of course, a good old chin wag with lots of lively chatter and laughter.

Home Manager, Jacqueline Ferguson commented:

“We had a great coffee morning; it was a lovely chance to socialise together whilst fundraising for a great cause and helping Macmillan make a real difference to people’s lives.”

“We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped on the day, attended the event and all who baked and donated. For all of us at Walstead Place it was lovely to see so many people get involved and help support us”

“It was also a great opportunity to present a member of our team Faye, a Caring Stars Award for September. Well done Faye – very well deserved!”

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
