Tuesday Toddlers at Cranmer Court

There is a little sprinkling of fairy dust on a Tuesday morning at Cranmer Court Care Home when we open our doors to the local community and host a toddler group.

There is something magical to see as our residents and the babies of the group speak without words; they communicate with a smile, a little giggle and the clapping of hands. Onlookers watch with pure joy to see the hearts of the young and the old come together.

Happy voices sing “If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands”. After the singing and playing it’s time for refreshments and homemade cupcakes.

One of our residents who is living with dementia sat and watched the children play and was clearly delighted when Ava came over to show him the game she was playing. Ava, who is two years old, is living with autism and is yet to find her voice. She melted our hearts with her smile and the gestures she made to let us know she was excited. The interaction between Ava and our residents spoke a thousand words.

Our Toddler Group is held every Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:30. Our Activities Supervisor Karen is on hand with her team to make sure fun is had by all.

Cranmer Court provides specialist residential, nursing and dementia care in a purpose built environment for up to 62 elderly people.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely

Paul Jeffery – Chief Executive Officer

Frank Cummins – Clinical Director
