Thank you for help with Bradbury House garden

Surprise ‘thank you’ dining out treats have been presented to two couples by the Bradbury House Care Home Manager, Jolene Anderson, this week.

The two couples – Eric & Marion Jefferys (Marion is the daughter of resident, Blodwen Carter) and Colin & Margaret Thake (Margaret is a resident and Colin is her husband) were each presented with a surprise meal out voucher for The White Heart in Braintree on 20 July, where they went immediately after receiving the surprise thank you gift!

The thank you gift to Marion & Eric was in recognition of their work on the garden in 2014, while Colin and Margaret’s gift was for donating and planting new flowers in 2015.

Jolene Anderson said: ‘We wanted to say thank you to Eric, Marion, Margaret and Colin for the support they have given to our home. The garden is an area that our residents enjoy, and the personal time and effort they have given is much appreciated by our staff and residents. We hope they will enjoy their surprise lunch out at The White Hart as a ‘thank you’ from Bradbury House Care Home staff and residents.’

Marion Jeffreys said of the meal treat: ‘Thank you so much. Bradbury House is a brilliant home and we like to mix with all residents and be involved in the life of mum’s home. The team really offer wonderful care above and beyond the call of duty.’

Margaret Thake, 82, a resident at Bradbury House since 2014, said she was looking forward to lunch out and fancied a prawn cocktail if it was on the menu. Colin Thake added: ‘I love it here at Bradbury House and come down most days. There are lovely people with really lovely staff here. I couldn’t wish for anything better for Margaret.’

Bradbury House was the very first residential home in the Caring Homes family opened in 1994. The home dates from the 17th Century and although it has been converted still retains many original features. It offers residential care for up to 21 people.
