Ice and a slice at Coxhill Manor

Wednesday mornings are a morning for everyone at Coxhill Manor care home with nursing in Woking to get together in the conservatory and enjoy a favourite tipple!

The Coxhill Sherry Morning is always a popular event – and it’s not just the traditional sherry on offer – gin and tonic with an ‘ice and a slice’ is by far the most popular request – while some residents have their individuals favourites – always a bicardi and coke for Philip and Martini and soda for Joyce.  Fred likes to bring his own vermouth and a selection of snacks to share with others on his table. And for those residents who prefer a soft drink there’s plenty on offer – Lemonade, ginger beer, bitter lemon … And while drinks are being served and enjoyed in the conservatory – resident’s who haven’t come will be offered a drink and nibbles in their room.

With the weather improving we have enjoyed a few Sherry Mornings in the garden too, and are often joined by visiting family members.  The more the merrier!

Our residents are thriving with the social interaction these mornings provide.  They have established their own social circles, proving it’s never too late to make new friends!
