Gloria Hunniford opens Southlands Place

Southlands Place were delighted to welcome TV and radio presenter Gloria Hunniford who officially opened our new, purpose-built care home on Saturday. She was given a guided tour of our home, meeting and speaking to residents, their relatives and the care team as well as visiting members of the public.

Guests enjoyed lunch prepared by our chefs while being entertained with a performance by The Sussex String Quartet in the sunshine. Some of our guests were also treated to a complimentary hair appointment or nail treatment at the Southlands Place salon.

Gloria Hunniford said:

“Southlands Place is a great home and sets a new standard. This should be the standard of care homes across the country, not the exception.”

“It is such a bright and welcoming home. Even from the front when you arrive, it makes you want to go in.”

“I have spoken with many of the residents and their families today and all I hear is praise for the Home Manager, Brigid, and her wonderful team.”

Brigid Sedour, Home Manager at Southlands Place, said:

“Gloria spent a lot of time talking to our residents and visitors and was really interested in finding out how the care home was run.”

She was very impressed with the modern facilities and high quality of the home including its cinema room, café and therapy room. It was a pleasure to have her visit us and we hope she will come again.”
