Easter fun at Gildawood

Gildawood Care Home in Nuneaton had lots of creative activities planned on the run up to Easter.

Residents have decorated our Easter tree in the reception area with boxes and polystyrene eggs. Everyone had fun decorating the Easter boxes and polystyrene eggs for the tree. The health and wellbeing team cut out nets for the residents to make up their boxes, colour and decorate their own designs before sticking them together. They had a great time choosing the decoration and then seeing them on show for everyone to see, they showed great pride in their work.

We could not see Easter through without eating hot cross buns, which everyone really enjoyed whilst talking about Easter traditions, reminiscing about their childhoods and family life. How times have changed.

We also enjoyed decorating Easter bonnets with feathers, polystyrene eggs, shredded paper and many other decorations all ready for a competition which will be judged by one of our relatives.

You will notice our home is decorated with lots of Easter and Spring themed pictures that our residents had fun colouring.

On Saturday 20th April, we will be hosting our own Easter Afternoon Tea alongside this we will be running a raffle in which there will be a chance to win a large hamper full of chocolate.

At Gildawood Court, we offer a full range of dementia care support including trial stays, short stay and convalescent care as well as long-term care.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
