Easter Bonnets and Parade at Hulcott

Ladies at Hulcott recently enjoyed taking part in an Easter themed arts and crafts activity decorating their own Easter bonnets before taking part in an Easter Parade.

They all enjoyed choosing their hats and decorating them with a range of Easter decorations we provided from flowers, chicks to little eggs. The ladies loved planning what they were going to create and there was lots of lively discussion about what to use and which bonnet was the best.

Traditionally, Hulcott hold its Easter Bonnet Parade in the Lounge and we held a competition for the best decorated bonnet. The ladies proudly wore and displayed their own creations and it was very hard to judge, as they were all so fantastic. Mary, pictured here, proudly won the competition and was delighted to choose her own prize from a selection of Easter eggs.

All the residents thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon which ended with a “flower” singalong in which they all joined in with great gusto.

Margaret Smart, Home Manager said

“It was a great day for all our residents and the ladies loved not only making their own bonnets but the following Easter celebrations. It’s a tradition here now at Hulcott and they all were eagerly looking forward to the parade. It really brought everyone together, both residents and staff, in a relaxed and fun environment and to top it off, they all loved the singalong at the end.”
