Creative month at Kippington

At Kippington Nursing Home in Seven Oaks this month the residents and care team all got involved in lots of activities.

There was some fun with ‘no-cook cookery’ on November 23rd, as volunteer students from Sevenoaks School helped the residents prepare ‘Coconut Ice’. They all had great fun mixing, with their hands, feeling the different textures, and choosing the colours they wanted to add. Workng with the school children really brings a lot of joy to the residents.

We turned very creative on November 28th. Starting with a blank A4 sheet of cotton wool each and a box load of craft materials, we challenged ourselves to come up with ‘snow scenes’ – thinking of ideas and then setting about creating them with what we had in front of us. Finally, we pieced all of our ideas together to make one large snowy diorama, ready for Winter.

On 29th November, we were very happy to receive a return visit from Rob T. talented ukulele player, performing light ballads and pop from several eras, some singalong tunes, and the first to perform some Christmas numbers for us! He will be returning next year, of course!

Kippington provides residential and nursing care in a beautiful converted Victorian building for up to 51 elderly people.
