‘Al’s Owls’ visit Oaken Holt

The residents of Oaken Holt Care Home, in Farmoor, welcomed some unusual visitors this week for one of their interactive wildlife sessions.

Alan Charlett of ‘Al’s Owls’ brought along four of his hand-reared owls to show off to a group of residents at the grand period home. The group enjoyed a very interesting factual talk about each of the owls, followed by a Q&A session.

A number of the residents took the opportunity to don the protective handling glove and enjoy the unique experience of having an owl resting on their arm, giving them the chance to see and feel the beautiful birds up close. The visit made for a fascinating and thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

Set within 23 acres of beautiful gardens and parklands in the heart of Oxfordshire, Oaken Holt is a magnificent country estate offering residential and nursing care of the very highest standard for up to 55 ladies and gentlemen.
