Zootastic visits Ivy Court

The residents at Ivy Court in Norwich were treated to a visit from Zoo-Tastic with a great range of animals this month.

Zoo-Tastic is a small family run mobile petting zoo, who our residents really enjoy visits from. The residents and their families got to meet and spend time with Owls, Snakes, Rabbits, Lizards and Polly the dog. Everyone had a fantastic time and really enjoyed the afternoon, the residents really engaged with the animals and learned about the different animals on display. The rabbits in particular were a big hit and very cuddly.

It is widely acknowledged that animals and pets can help reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and increase social interaction and physical activity, it is especially therapeutic for a resident if they had a pet before coming to Ivy Court. Having animals in the home helps the residents focus on something other than the physical problems they may be having so it is important to us that Zootastic are regular visitors to Ivy Court.

Ivy Court provides specialist residential, nursing and dementia care in a purpose built environment for up to 71 elderly people.
