Walstead residents commemorate World War One anniversary

The residents of Walstead made the short trip to Newhaven Fort this week in commemoration of the World War One anniversary.

The group was joined by volunteer Patrick, who is developing his skills before heading to medical school. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day, even if it was tight squeeze getting the Walstead Place minibus into the fort! The day was rounded off with tea and cake in a nearby Garden Centre.

Located just a mile from Lindfield, Walstead Place is a 19th Century former country squire’s residence, sensitively converted to provide residential and nursing care for up to 41 elderly ladies and gentlemen.
