For immediate release

A popular garden fete at Walstead Place got in to full swing when crowds of people turned up to enjoy the local event.
The Scaynes Hill Road home, part of the Caring Homes group, set up a number of stalls and attractions for visitors to enjoy at the recent event. Garden vegetables grown on site at the care home were available for visitors to buy. They also had a harpist, Margaret Watson, who played throughout the afternoon.
Jacquie Ferguson, care home manager at Walstead Place said:

“We were delighted that so many local shops and relative and friends of Walstead made donations towards our raffle. Everyone was so generous; it was such a lovely event, which we thoroughly enjoyed. All of the proceeds from the event will raise funds for a ‘Rem Pod’, which is a pop-up up reminiscing room for all of our residents to enjoy.”

Located in the quiet hamlet of Walstead, just a mile from Lindfield, Walstead Place is a 19th century country squire’s residence, sensitively converted to provide residential care and nursing care for up to 41 elderly ladies and gentlemen. The home is run by the family-owned Caring Homes Group, which was founded in 1994 by mother and son team, Helena and Paul Jeffery.
