Walstead Place delight at CQC success

Staff at Walstead Place care home near Lindfield were celebrating this week as they received top marks in their latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Following a review of the inspection process in recent years, five areas of the business are now inspected which assess how well the service is treating people with respect, quality of care provision, safeguarding and safety, staffing and management of the service.

The 19th Century home, part of the family-owned Caring Homes Group, has achieved the highest possible levels of care delivery having met the required standards in all of the above areas.

As part of the process, CQC inspectors spoke to residents, relatives and members of staff. The home demonstrated full compliance in all areas with special mention made of the ‘high standards of care’ and the support provided to encourage residents’ independence.

Located in the quiet hamlet of Walstead, just a mile from Lindfield, Walstead Place is a 19th century country squire’s residence, sensitively converted to provide residential care and nursing care for up to 41 elderly ladies and gentlemen. The home is run by the family-owned Caring Homes Group, which was founded in 1994 by mother and son team, Helena and Paul Jeffery.
