Tall Trees’ positive culture delivers high-quality person-centred care

The team at Tall Trees Care Home, in Chipping Norton, have been praised in the home’s latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection report for their positive culture, high-quality person-centred care.

Tall Trees, in Oxfordshire, provides residential, nursing and dementia care of the very highest standard for up to 60 elderly residents. The home was rated good overall following the inspection which took place in February. It is the second consecutive inspection where the home has been rated as Good in all five areas and overall.

Inspectors noted that colleagues were attentive to people’s needs and responded quickly when people needed assistance and remarked that the home is well managed.

People and their relatives told inspectors that the care team were kind, caring and treated them with dignity and respect. People had developed positive relationships with the team, who had taken time to get to know people, their likes dislikes and interests. People and their relatives were encouraged and supported to express their views and were involved in the running of the home.

Inspectors witnessed that residents are supported by well trained staff with the deputy manager who shared, “If someone has a specialised need, we make sure the staff are trained to support them before they are admitted.”

Residents were very positive about the care they received. One said, “It is a lovely home, I can’t fault it.” A resident added, “I am very happy with the carers and the care I receive.”

Home Manager Paulo Leitao said: “At Caring Homes we want to ensure that our home is just that – a caring home. Here at Tall Trees we are all delighted at the praise we have received from the CQC inspectors following our latest inspection and that we have, again, achieved a Good overall rating. We continuously seek to improve and will be increasing opportunities to gather and respond to feedback offered by residents, relatives and professionals. Without exception everyone is looking forward to our enhanced activities schedule when we have our new activities co-ordinator in post.”
