Salvation Army visit Ivy Court for carols

The residents from Ivy Court in Norwich were treated to a performance from the Salvation Army this week.

The Salvation Army’s brass band played Christmas carols to the residents and care team for a truly spectacular afternoon. Christmas carol song sheets were handed out to everyone that had come along for the show, and everyone tried their best at singing along to songs like ‘Silent Night’, ‘Hark the Herald Angels’, ‘O little Town of Bethlehem’ and Jingle Bells’.

The residents thoroughly enjoyed singing along on the run up to Christmas, these occasions make it extra special for the residents at Ivy Court. It was extra special for one residents in particular at Ivy Court who used to play in the Salvation Army band! This was the perfect opportunity for him to reconnect with the band who all knew him, and reminisce about times playing in the band and talk about things they have been up to recently.

For all our residents at Ivy Court, connecting with local groups is an important part of remaining part of the local community. At Ivy Court we encourage this to happen as often as possible as it helps lift spirits, increase confidence and helps them not feel isolated as they are still part of the wider community.
