Royal wedding celebrations at Magna

The residents at Magna Care home with nursing in Wimborne this week joined the rest of the Nation in celebrating the Royal Wedding in true British fashion.

Activity coordinators Cheryl, Claire and Becky decorated the main lounge with bunting, balloons and Union Jack table runners on top of blue cloths. As many residents as possible came out to the lounge to join in the celebrations. Everyone was seated at the tables at a place with their name, as if at a wedding in street party style. Everyone enjoyed a ploughmans style buffet while they watched the wedding on a large screen played through a laptop.

The residents had a great time watching the lead up and wedding and it caused lots of discussion around their own wedding days and others they had attended. Doris said “Lovely party set up. The place names helped at the table and the big screen was a huge success. I loved the dress which was simple but beautiful.”
Vi exclaimed ” The service was beautiful, and the weather was lovely, a perfect day. I really enjoyed seeing the little bridesmaids! Our lounge was decorated beautifully and we had lovely food in the buffet.”
Christiana said, “Beautiful veil and I loved watching all of it!”

We weren’t all sure of the new style of preaching during the Royal wedding service, but it brought together the two different worlds perfectly. We hope they enjoy a ling and happy marriage!

The Magna nursing home in Wimborne is a stunning Care Centre providing residential and specialist nursing care for up to 63 elderly residents.
