Royal celebrations at Gildawood

Gildawood Court in Nuneaton enjoyed a day of celebrations for the Royal Wedding.

The activity team arranged a party and decorated Gildawood with bunting, flags and themed memorabilia. The kitchen staff, Megan, Anne and Alison baked and decorated festive cupcakes which the residents thoroughly enjoyed, and they helped with the event.

The party was held in the day care sitting room with vintage music playing, our residents enjoyed participating in a sing-a-long session after the big event. We arranged for an ice cream van to visit the home in the afternoon, which parked outside of the day care room. The residents were delighted to order ice creams on a lovely hot day, with the ’99’ being a very popular choice, with lots of sauce and a chocolate flake! We had lots of positive feedback from residents and even our local neighbours popped by to join in the festivities.

At Gildawood Court, we offer a full range of dementia care support including trial stays, short stay and convalescent care as well as long-term care.
