Residents enjoy ‘balloon swotting!’

Residents at Mount Pleasant care home in Burton-upon-Trent enjoy a wide range of activities within the home organised by Activities Coordinator, Eve Connolly. Activities can include outings to local attractions, trips into the local area, or activities within the home.

An activity can be a focus within the home for several days or weeks or sometimes, can just be a bit of fun! One regular game residents enjoy playing is balloon swotting, a fun, inclusive game which can be played by all residents. The game simply involves teams ‘swotting’ balloons to one another – but residents can get very competitive!

“This is a fun game, enjoyed by all our residents” said Eve Connolly, Activities Coordinator; “Anyone can get involved and it gets our residents moving. We take the mental and physical wellbeing of our residents incredibly seriously at Mount Pleasant and all activities are tailored around our residents. I listen to the likes, dislikes and preferences of our residents and ensure there is an activity for everyone.”
