Music be the Food of Love at Moorlands

At Moorlands Nursing Home in Lightwater, the phrase ‘If music be the food of love, play on…’ was very apt when we celebrated Valentine’s Day with a party at our home and the feeling of ‘love was truly in the air’.

Adam, our new Activities Coordinator had done a fantastic job of turning our regular dining room into a ‘banquet hall of love’ (or a ‘romantic restaurant’ ?!). He and our residents had been working hard all week on decorations for the big day and their hard work certainly paid off.

We were warmly serenaded by our favourite crooner Graham Broad who was accompanied by Kia, which was an unexpected pleasure for us and made duets easier for him too.

Tears and laughter were shared as we remembered loves lost and found and sweethearts old and new. Wine flowed and a beautiful buffet followed the music.

Rebecca, one of our nurses, was swept off her feet into a waltz (or some semblance of one!) by the husband of one of our residents’ followed by some toe tapping with resident Joan.

It was a lovely afternoon for our residents, their families and guests and not forgetting the team too. A wonderful time was had by all.

At Moorlands Nursing Home we provide residential and nursing care for up to 40 elderly residents in a bright and homely environment.
