Monthly Dementia Cafe at Belmont House

The first Dementia Café at Belmont House, in Worcester Road, Surrey, is set to take place on Monday, June 5th, 2pm – 4pm to show people around the home, take part in some activities and enjoy refreshments.

Belmont House is a purpose built nursing home run by Caring Homes and offering the highest standards of residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 60 elderly residents, surrounded by landscaped gardens devised by a Chelsea Flower Show gold winning designer.

Care home manager Kay Wainwright said; “We understand the challenges faced when supporting a loved one living with dementia and would like to invite people along to our monthly Dementia Café.

“At Caring Homes we promote a dementia friendly community and would urge people to come along and support this new initiative.

Following the launch event on June 5th the Dementia café will take place monthly with future events including:

  • A chance to meet new friends, speak to residents and our care team
  • Varied activities
  • Advice and support
  • Visiting guest speakers from local groups such as Dementia Action Alliance and The Prince’s Trust
  • Information and guidance available on what it is like to live with dementia and communication tips
  • Free refreshments and afternoon tea
