Ivy Court take a trip to Blickling Estate

Today the residents from Ivy Court nursing home in Norwich took a trip to Blicking Estate, where we were met by a number of relatives.

We spent a little time in the beautiful gardens but unfortunately the weather was not kind to us and we were caught in quite a lot of rain. Luckily as well as the gardens there was the grand House within the Estate for us to look around.

The house has been taken back to the 1930s.  As we walked around the house we were able to read former owner Lord Lothian’s letters, see his clothes, look at his photos, study his dinner party menus, smell cooking, and hear the conversations of the host and his house party guests.

After our wander around the house we headed to the shop for a browse at the local tasty treats and books. also enjoyed going around the shop. To finish the day we had some lovely tea and cake in The Farmyard Cafe.

We will make sure we return again soon, maybe when the weather is brighter so we can make more of the gardens!
