Hulcott’s annual ‘Whiskey Run’ goes down a treat

Burns Night has many associated traditions, but for the residents of Hulcott care home with nursing, it means just one thing, the annual ‘Whisky Run.’

The Buckinghamshire home always celebrates the event in style, but the main attraction each year is the tradition of guessing which whisky is served with the haggis, by taste alone.

Resident Ray and his daughter (pictured together) were the worthy winners this year, correctly guessing that the mystery whisky as Jack Daniels and taking the bottle home as their prize. The celebration of the legendary Scottish poet concluded with a stirring reading of some of Burns’ classic work.
Located in the peaceful village of Hulcott itself, the home provides excellent residential and nursing care for up to 38 elderly ladies and gentlemen.
