Every day is Special at Wytham House

Living at Wytham House care home in Farmoor, ‘everyday’ for a resident stays just as they like it and maintaining the continuity of recent times, but we also believe that every day is special too and it’s sometimes the little things that can make a real difference.

One of the highlights for our ladies here is when they get the chance to be pampered and have their hair set and styled for them.

We are very fortunate that one of our team Katie, holds a hairdressing qualification, as well as being a valued member of our team so she often finds herself in high demand and treating the ladies to getting their hair done. One of our residents, Sheila loves spending time in our hairdressing salon whilst having a cup of tea and a good old natter and recently enjoyed the pleasure of Katie utilising her skills and helping her put rollers in her hair.

Katie commented:
“Taking those extra few minutes helps to make Shelia feel better about herself and I also really enjoy being able to use my skills to make our residents feel happy.”

Our gentlemen residents aren’t forgotten either and Katie makes herself available to ensure they look dapper too.

At Wytham House we offer residential and nursing dementia care provided by outstanding highly-skilled professionals. The wellbeing of our residents is a top priority for all of our team here from reception, carers, activities to our catering team and we are all committed to making sure that their time spent with us is happy and rewarding, as it is for us too.
