East Hill House Strawberry Fayre is a community success

Liss based East Hill House care home opened its doors to the community once more this week as they held their popular Strawberry Fayre.

Many members of the local community joined residents and staff in the picturesque gardens of the specialist dementia home to raise money for the residents activities fund.

There was plenty for the children of the community to enjoy with face painting, pony rides and a trampoline laid on by the home. Parents and residents enjoyed a more relaxed afternoon with Angie’s Café set up on the decking to provide cakes and refreshments.

There were plenty of winners on the day, with the colouring competition won by Milo aged 4, Lottie aged 7 and Lucy aged 9. Michael guessing the weight of the cake at 7 ½ lbs and Colin winning of the treasure map competition.

East Hill House Manager, Clare Hall told us:

‘Everyone has had a great time today! It is always wonderful when the community comes together to support these events – it is important to our residents that they remain an active part of the wider community.

I would like to thank all of our staff for their hard work in organising the day, along with everyone who attended. The fantastic raffle prizes donated by local businesses have helped us raise over £280 towards the residents activities fund.’

Located in the peaceful village of Liss, East Hill House provides residential and specialist dementia care for up to 35 elderly people. The home is run by the family-owned Caring Homes. Mother and son team Helena and Paul Jeffery founded Caring Homes in 1994 and the Group has grown to become a leading independent care provider in the UK.
