Danielle becomes a Train the trainer in the Dementia Programme

Danielle Barron a carer at Denham Manor Nursing Home in Denham, Buckinghamshire, has just completed a two day course on the ‘Living In My World Train the Trainer Programme’. Living in My World is the Caring Homes, City & Guilds accredited, dementia care programme which all team members are able to complete. The programme helps us all understand what life is like for those living with the condition and how loved ones can be affected and supported, understanding the condition itself and how to make a positive impact on the people in our care.

This course means that Danielle is now the in-house trainer at Denham Manor, she is able to support colleagues through the ‘Living In My World’ Programme as more members take the courses available. As Denham Manor have recently opened a dementia area this is important to the care team as it provides the opportunity to regularly give provide refresher courses and any new members of the team can also complete the course.

Danielle said, “I was provided with so much support during the two days and also in the run up, by the trainers on the course and also the rest of my colleagues at Denham Manor.” Home Manager Julie Twidle exclaimed, “Danielle has come a long way since starting at Denham Manor and to again this extra qualification as well as her NVQ’s is amazing, she has put in a lot of hard work. Danielle was over the moon and is looking forward to guiding the staff though this training. Congratulations!”
