Coxhill Resident joins the 100 Club

A Coxhill Manor resident recently joined the prestigious 100 Club – ringing in a century of birthdays surrounded by loving friends and family. Doris Bailey, was born in Cobham in 1916, but moved to Chobham when she was only six years old.

She has since spent the last 94 years living in this village and has been a much loved resident of Coxhill Manor for the last two years.

Doris spent most of her married life living close by, keeping livestock and growing their own produce and says she has always enjoyed the outdoor life, eating healthily, as well as owning and showcasing animals with her brother at local fairs.

With a strong creative flair, Doris also enjoyed flower arranging and in her later years took brush to canvas and produced some beautiful pieces of art.

After receiving her birthday card from the Queen, Doris enjoyed a birthday bash of her own, with her guests ranging from family and friends raising a glass to this remarkable lady.

Niece Barbara Cooper said:

“The celebrations were a fitting tribute to Doris and her landmark birthday and Doris would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended her birthday party and sent her good wishes, and also to thank everyone for their lovely gifts.”

Sandra Stock, Activities Lead said:

“At Coxhill Manor, we always celebrate everyone’s birthday with cake, gifts and lots of attention and it is lovely to welcome their friends and families in to join us. Every resident becomes part of the family and when it is such a milestone birthday such as this, we are proud to have played a part in Doris enjoying her day.”
