Country Singer Stu Edwards wins over Coxhill Manor

Coxhill Manor care home in Woking, Surrey were delighted to welcome musician Stu “Maverick” Edwards, for the first time to our home on Wednesday 15th February.

With much anticipation after lunch, our residents all gathered together in the conservatory for what was to be an absolute exquisite hour of live country music.

Stu was the real deal… with his electric guitar and cowboy boots and cowboy hat!   He played a range of country music from contemporary to classic country, as well as smooth country love songs.  Stu covered familiar songs by Jonny Cash, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers and even Elvis, to name but a few.

Stu had us all clapping along to the beat of the music, and encouraged everyone to join in with singing and arm waving. Every single resident was beaming and having a fabulous time.

He bought the conservatory to life and the sound of music resonated through our home…  Country music never sounded so good.

One of our residents, Olive loved every minute and said after the show:
“He was the best entertainer we have ever had.”

Whilst Stu treated us to an intimate performance tailored perfectly to his audience here at Coxhill Manor, he is also the lead vocalist of the UK’s favourite live country band ‘Gone Country’ and has nearly 20 years of professional musical entertainment experience under his large cowboy hat.

Guaranteed to put on a great show and judging by our residents and teams reaction to Stu’s show, we think they would be a perfect addition to our summer barbeque! We will definitely be inviting Stu back to Coxhill Manor by popular demand!
