Butterflys a big hit with Bradbury House

After a request from residents, a group from Bradbury House in Braintree enjoyed a day out recently to the Tropical Wings Zoo in Chelmsford.

The Zoo has a large collection of birds, mammals, insects and reptiles to see, many of which are endangered in the wild. They are also home to one of the finest butterfly houses in the UK.

All of the residents particularly enjoyed being in the environments where the animals were roaming free, in particular the butterfly area. Along with this the group also enjoyed being with the Wallaby’s and Parrots who were freely jumping and flying around, and some even had the chance to stroke them. The day was finished off with an ice cream in the jungle-themed cafe.

Located in the heart of the historic town of Braintree, Bradbury House is the very first home in the Caring Homes family. The home dates in part from the 17th century and, following a comprehensive and sympathetic conversion, retains many original features whilst also providing an outstanding residential care setting. Bradbury House enjoys an enviable reputation for delivering the very highest standard of residential care in a homely and friendly environment for up to 21 elderly people.
