Belmonts first Christmas

The residents at Belmont House in Sutton were entertained by Nathan Rhodes this week.

Nathan sung a very melodical set of middle of the road sounds from the last few years and incorporated some Christmas tunes for our Christmas celebrations.

All the residents and family members enjoyed the afternoon, helping put everyone at the home in the mood for Christmas! The day was a taster of all the events coming up on the road to our first Christmas at Belmont House!

It was a very moving event and the team at Belmont House were so pleased to see so many happy, smiling faces. This time of year, it is so important to recognise not only our residents but their families and friends and to allow everyone to celebrate the joys of the season with the ones they love.  Everyone joined in, reminisced about music they had enjoyed in the past and how this brought back so many good memories.

Tomorrow will be the big dress the trees day and turning on of our Christmas lights at Belmont House. Every year Christmas will be well marked at Belmont, it is a special time of year for everyone to feel joy, warmth and care. Even if some of our residents no longer understand the meaning of Christmas due to dementia, they will  still remember the feeling brought to them by Christmas music, putting up decorations and enjoy the special festive food.

Belmont House provides specialist residential, nursing and dementia care in a purpose built environment.
