Summer celebration at St George

This Saturday saw St George care home in Bristol welcome friends, family and the local community for their annual summer fayre.

With so much work having been done in preparation, everyone was pleased to see the sun shining for the event, which featured live entertainment and a variety of stalls. There were a host of wild and wonderful items on the ever-popular Bric-a-Brac stall, most of which were donated by staff, relatives and the local Tesco store. Other stalls, manned by enthusiastic volunteers, included Cakes, Gifts, Body Shop, Plants and the traditional Tombola.

Head Chef Lynette did her bit by creating a lovely ‘Minion’ cake, of which guests then had to guess the weight, with St George Administrator Nicky emerging victorious.

The fun-filled day, which raised over £650 for the residents’ activity fund, was rounded off with a traditional cream tea and live music from regular entertainer ‘Rocking Gerry’.

Located near St George Park, this purpose-built home provides residential and specialist nursing care for up to 68 people.
