Bowmar pipeband funday at Marchglen

We are lucky to have talented staff at Marchglen in Alloa, and with our own Teresa who has played in the pipeband for over 20 years! The band is well established and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2015 with a CD release.

The band played two well received sets, opening Marchglen’s 2016 Funday in August and made use of the car park area to strut their stuff.  Not only did the band play for us but many of the band also helped out on the day on some of our stalls and even managed to sell a few of their own CD’s. Thanks to their generous support along with Keith Ward from Castles and Mascots the home was able to raise over £600 for its residents fund.

Marchglen are fortunate to have good community relations and have reached out to many diverse bands including the Forth Bridges Accordion band who have freely given up their time to play at the home.  The Bowmar band have kindly agreed to send out a piper to open our Christmas Fayre planned on the 1st of December.

This entertainment is important to our residents, helping them engage with the local community and build their relationships and confidence around others.

Marchglen provides nursing care in a purpose built environment for up to 36 people in four small homes within the grounds. Each home provides different types of care and support including physical disabilities, learning disabilities and challenging behaviours in both young adults and elderly.
