‘Zac, meet Zac’ – MP Meets Namesake at Care Centre Opening

Great Grandson of first resident at new Care Centre steals the show when he meets Zac Goldsmith MP on opening day.

Zac Goldsmith MP met four generations of one local family on Friday 23rd July when he was the guest of honour at the Grand Opening of Deer Park View Care Centre on Bushy Park Road.

Maria Gambrill, aged 90, became the very first resident at Deer Park View when she moved in on 14th June. She was delighted to meet the newly elected Member of Parliament and introduce him to her family, including the youngest member, her great grandson who was just 12 days old and also named Zac!

Zac senior was doing the honours at the official opening of the prestigious Deer Park View Care Centre, the latest home from the Caring Homes Group. Home Manager Katarina Parr introduced Mr Goldsmith to residents and staff and gave him a tour of the facilities.

Deer Park View has been designed to offer a “home from home” feel for all residents, with a warm and friendly environment and the opportunity to enjoy beautiful views of Bushy Park. The home also features the very latest in design for elderly residents who have a form of dementia. Caring Homes has developed a comprehensive programme of support – from dedicated staff training to state of the art facilities – to support the growing number of people living with dementia and Deer Park View is the latest, and finest, example of that commitment.

Zac Goldsmith MP said;

“It was an honour to open the new Deer Park View Care Centre and a real privilege to meet residents and staff, especially Maria and her family. It is crucial that elderly people have access to high quality provision such as this, so that they can receive excellent care in their own community, close to friends and family. This is what enables intergenerational bonds to strengthen and grow and ensures that the wisdom of experience is passed down to younger generations.”

Katarina Parr, Home Manager said;

“We were absolutely delighted that both Zacs were here for our special day. Maintaining strong connections with family, friends and community makes a massive difference to our elderly residents. At Deer Park View we are committed to maintaining and building on those links and I look forward to seeing young Zac and his family sharing many more happy times with Maria in the future.”
