Walstead at the In Bloom Tea Party

The residents at Walstead Place care home in Haywards Heath were invited to the In Bloom Tea Party at our local Town Hall for a project we had been part of back in the summer.

The project was to design a picture or canvas of ‘Flanders Field’ in aid of the 100th Anniversary of the WW1. We took two of our residents to the Tea party, Marjorie and Jean, together with myself and Lyn our Activity Organiser.

We had the most amazing couple of hours and were entertained by Marco the Magician, whilst having a cup of tea, sandwiches and cakes. The residents thoroughly enjoyed being ambassadors for Walstead and as you can see our entry was amazing and everyone loved it .

The canvas and others from other care homes in the area will be displayed in the local library for all to see before being returned to us.
