VE Day Celebrations at Knowle Park

VE Day was celebrated in style this year at Knowle Park with two days of wartime memories and festivities. On Tuesday 7th May, the event was kicked off by a talk on wartime memories by Esther Carpenter, before everyone joined in preparing food and decorations for the ‘Street Party’ buffet lunch on VE Day itself.

Decked out in patriotic posters and flags, the dining room made the perfect setting for the festive feast in celebration of the important landmark day. Following the street party style lunch, Tommy Parsons got everyone singing along with his ‘Songs from the 40’s’ performance.
Knowle Park is a magnificent early 19th century Manor House on the outskirts of Cranleigh, Surrey, that has been lovingly restored to provide residential and nursing care for up to 43 elderly ladies and gentlemen.
