The Royal Wedding comes to Mill House

At Mill House Care Home with Nursing in Chipping Campden, to get into the royal wedding mood we will be enjoying a week of themed events to celebrate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.

The royal wedding on 19 May is one of 2018’s most highly-anticipated international events and we have planned a number of ways to mark the upcoming nuptials.

In the days running up to this special occasion, we’ll be displaying, wedding memorabilia around the home in our lounges and communal areas, such as a horseshoe, wedding dress, top hat, a ladies fascinator, a wedding cake, to name just a few.

Each item will have a sign stating ‘You are invited to a Royal Wedding.” The idea is to stimulate memories and conversation amongst our residents, guests and team, evoking recollections of their own weddings or events they have attended. It’s also a great way to remind our residents about this special day and for them to feel part of these festivities.

We would like to say a big thank you to all the wedding items that have already been kindly donated by members of our local community to help theme our rooms. We’ve even had a wedding dress offered and a cake! We feel so proud to be part of the Chipping Campden community.

Paul Dixon, Activities Coordinator said:

“The entire home is full of enthusiasm for the Royal Wedding and we are looking forward to getting involved in lots of wedding fun. Whilst we may not be at the wedding there in person, we will all be watching it on the TV and celebrating in spirit.”

At Mill House, we deliver residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 45 elderly residents in a friendly and supportive environment.
