Tea and Bingo at Southlands Place Care Home
The residents at Southlands Place Care Home love a good cuppa and as the weather has been so delightful they have taken their tea club outside and there has been some full houses this week as well with bingo proving popular.
What better way to enjoy a lovely cup of tea than making the most of the wonderful weather we have had recently and the residents at the home did just that, having their tea club alfresco in the landscaped gardens at the home. It gave them the opportunity to soak up the sunshine and enjoy some fresh air whilst chatting and socialising together.
Bingo is a popular activity at the home and the residents played a few more rounds this week with three prizes up for grabs - it got competitive at times! Playing bingo has many health benefits for our residents. It takes concentration which improves listening and short term memory skills, and it promotes socialisation which is really important for our residents to maintain a happy and healthy lifestyle.
Residents sit poised with their pens as they await their numbers to be called, sometimes the excitement can get too much as the competition grows and they are racing to cross off the last number on their cards!
