Sundridge visit Tea Pot Island

The residents at Sundridge Court in Bromley, had a day trip to Tea Pot Island this week.

On Thursday 11th April residents accompanied by their family members, enjoyed a day out to Tea Pot Island for lunch and a look around the museum.

A number of residents accompanied by their family members went on the and members of the care team, enjoyed a day out to Tea Pot Island for lunch and a look around the museum.

The residents had to walk over a bridge to get to Tea Pot Island, where they watched boats and ducks on the river, providing them with plenty of fresh air building appetites for the cream tea later.

At the entrance is a 3 metre tall Wishing Well teapot and cup which holds two Guinness World Record certificates. Everyone had a go at throwing coins into it, all the donations go to the Air Ambulance.

One they were in the museum they were all delighted with the wide variety of tea pots on display, as you can imagine the building was full from floor to ceiling with Tea pots there are over 2000! In all different forms from pumpkins and Star Wars figures to the Queens head. Lots of discussions were sparked about how they were made and where the ideas came from?

Residents were taken back by how beautiful the island looked and it brought back such lovely memories. One resident said ” I miss having an old fashioned Tea pot, how times have moved on” The journey was very calming and residents enjoyed the sights of the country side whilst the sun shone brightly.

Everyone had a great day out which will give them plenty to talk about in the days to come. We all decided to come back in the warmer months.
