Sundridge Court visit Teapot Island

The residents at Sundridge Court in Bromley, had a day trip to Tea Pot Island this week.

A number of residents went on the mini bus trip with members of the care team, where they met with family and friends for the day out. There were four generations on the trip, with everyone cooing over the youngest member.

The residents had to walk over a bridge to get to Tea Pot Island, where they watched boats and ducks on the river, providing with plenty of fresh air building appetites for the cream tea later.

At the entrance is a 3 metre tall Wishing Well teapot and cup which holds two Guinness World Record certificates. Everyone had a go at throwing coins into it, all the donations go to the Air Ambulance.

One they were in the museum they were all delighted with the wide variety of tea pots on display, there are over 2000! in all different forms from pumpkins and Star Wars figures to the Queens head. Lots of discussions were sparked about how they were made and where the ideas came from?

The residents, family members and carers all enjoyed refreshments in the bistro style cafe, which had a wide variety of food and ice creams. They had to try the cream tea which comes with a home made scone, before the residents got back on the bus back home.

Everyone had a great day out which will give them plenty to talk about in the days to come.

Sundridge provides residential and nursing care in a purpose built environment for up to 28 elderly people.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
