Summer garden party at Kingsclear

On a fine summer’s day in August Kingsclear Care Home in Camberley opened its doors to the lovely public of Surrey Heath for a Garden Party. The aim of the day was to enjoy the sun and raise money for our partners, The Alzheimer’s Society.

This event had been months in the planning as we wanted to make sure that it was memorable and that our residents had an amazing time. We had an ice cream van, BBQ, Billy The Singer and a raffle to name just a few things!

It is fair to say that on the morning of our Garden Party there was a feeling of apprehension as the rain began pouring down – we watched on as the bouncy castle was soaked and we started to wonder if we would get the weather that the Met Office promised!

Then, at 12:30pm (half an hour before the party began), out came the sun. What a great feeling for us all! We welcomed in over 200 people from the local community and raised an amazing £400!

Our residents had an absolute ball and were talking about it for weeks after, which has spurred us into arranging a Christmas Fayre with Mince Pies, Mulled Wine and various stalls with Christmas goodies on Saturday 7th December – come along!

Safe to say that we are hoping to make the same success next year and for many years to come.

At Kingsclear we provide residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 90 elderly residents in a bright and homely environment.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
