Summer BBQ and Garden Party at Hulcott

Residents at Hulcott Nursing Home in Aylesbury enjoyed their Summer BBQ and Garden party this month.

The care team had made the bunting and Fiona our entertainer for the day set the scene for our “Across the Decades” summer BBQ and Garden Party with her songs from the 1920 to the present day.

We reminisced about the songs from the 20s, we sang along to the music from the shows, we rocked and rolled to Elvis, including George the dog, and clapped our way through  the music from the decades.

After all the worry about the weather the sun cream and sun hats came out as the sun got hotter and hotter as the day went on.

Everyone was invited to BBQ with us and Caroline did a sterling job with the burgers and sausages and kebabs, children Hooked the Ducks which were hosted by Mary one of our much loved residents.  The tombola was another great success manned by Joan one of our relatives, Karen, Acting Manager, hosted the Pimms and Guess where the Wine is  stall and of course there was a Granny’s Attic looked after by Jo one of our Housekeepers.

Following the BBQ everyone was treated to some welcome tea and cakes before the raffle was drawn and the prizes were handed out.

Hulcott Nursing Home provides the highest standards of specialist nursing and residential care for up to 38 elderly people.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
