St Patrick’s Day at East Hill House

On Saturday 17th of March, East Hill House residents and team celebrated St Patricks Day in style at our nursing home in Liss.

In keeping with the Irish theme, our residents donned some funny hats and enjoyed a traditional Irish Lunch of bacon and cabbage, with some of our residents enjoying a tipple of Guinness and other Irish themed drinks.

We were then very lucky to be visited by a local Irish dance club who came in and performed for all the residents. The troupe’s ages ranged from four to eight years old and our residents commented on how lovely they looked in their bright and colourful dresses.

They danced beautifully for us and amazed us with their skill and fancy footwork. For those that had an Irish connection, it brought back some very fond memories. We were then thrilled when their dance teacher performed two special dances for us. It was a great end to a great day.

East Hill House which provides residential and dementia care for up to 72 elderly people, was awarded ‘Best Dementia Care Home of the Year’ at the prestigious National Dementia Care Awards in 2017. Rated ‘Good’ by the quality inspector, CQC, they continuously improve the lives of their residents through offering wide ranging activities and events both in and outside of the home involving members of the local community as often as possible.
