Ssssteam trains for Ivy Court residents

This week the residents from Ivy Court travelled up to Aylsham to ride on the Bure Valley Steam Train. Despite fears over the rainy morning in Norwich, we managed to drive through the weather to arrive in clear skies, ready for the scenic route. Six of our residents and two relatives joined us, and we had arranged for two special disability friendly carriages. One of the residents, Joyce, had taken the time to research the train journey online beforehand and was able to give us a guided tour on the way around telling us about the history of the sites we passed.

When we arrived at Wroxham, we decided to head down to the Kings Head by the broads to use it as a meeting point and for some light refreshments. Here we sat and had our beers and coffees, and chat about our journey and other ones the residents might have been on before. It was nice to hear stories from some of our newer residents as this enlightened us a little more as to who they are. A couple of the ladies had a look around in the local shops and one pair went to visit the café. It was still a little breezy to sit outside, but we took it turns to go and see the boats and the swans before heading home.
