Springwood Song Birds at Heffle Court

Heffle Court are proud to announce the launch of a new singing club for our residents. They are called the ‘Springwood Song Birds’ and the idea is to bring everyone together in reminiscent song and friendship.

The club will happen every 3rd Wednesday of the month 10.30am – 12.00pm.

What makes it even more special is the guests pictured all have a unique story about their close connection with Heffle Court and why they chose to participate with this activity.

Fiona Godwin volunteered here at Heffle Court several years ago running our Dementia Café held on Thursday afternoons until she moved to Singapore. Fiona has now returned to the UK and we were delighted when she wanted to be involved once again. Fiona’s father and stepmother both live here with us at Heffle Court and it is great for her to attend and be involved in these sessions.

Lynne Fraser is a local Heathfield parish Councillor who also used to help run the Thursday Dementia Café with Fiona. Lynne’s father was a former resident here at Heffle Court.

Katey Ann Fraser is Lynne’s daughter so the family connection is with her grandfather. Katey kindly donated her piano to our residents which continues to provide hours of musical fun and entertainment. Katey is now a professional actress and talented dancer and performer. Not only can Katey play various musical instruments including harp, piano and guitar but she kindly donates her time and shares her talents by performing on a regular basis here at Heffle Court and truly enhances the lives of our residents.

Our residents are thoroughly enjoyed their new music club and cannot wait for the next one.
