Spring Fete to Celebrate International Nurses Day at Oaken Holt

23rd May 2022

Oaken Holt enjoyed the recent good weather with a Spring Fete for their residents and staff. All were treated to a traditional afternoon tea of finger sandwiches, cakes scones and a cheeky glass of Pimm’s. The home management surprised everyone by introducing Yuri Sabatini an Italian Tenor to sing some classic arias. But the real stars of the show were Mary and Rose the donkeys.

The event was held within the extensive manicured gardens of Oaken Holt on the afternoon of the 12th May - International Nurses Day! “What better way to celebrate and honour how hard the staff at Oaken Holt have worked over the past year,” said Home Manager Michael Daglish.

Celebrated around the world every year on that date - the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth – International Nurses Day is a time to reflect and celebrate the outstanding contribution nursing professionals provide to the health service. After the past year of pandemic, the theme was ‘A vision for future healthcare’, a look into how the nursing profession will transform the next stage of healthcare.

Oaken Holt has 53 ensuite bedrooms, with several of them enjoying views over the homes 23 acres of beautiful gardens and parklands that encompass the estate. The home provides residential care on a permanent or short stay basis. To find out more about our home call 080 223 5529.
