The Sound of Christmas Music at Moorlands

Residents at Moorlands Nursing Home were overjoyed this week when Lightwater Village School brought lots of festive cheer, when they made their annual Christmas visit to our home and charmed us all with their Christmas tunes.

They were guests of honour at our home for the afternoon and they sung their little hearts out to rapturous applause and a few teary, but happy eyes as people reminisced about other carol concerts they had enjoyed. With ages ranging from four to seven, the children had practised their performance and it showed.

Moorlands have a special relationship with Lightwater Village School. Over the years we have forged strong community links bringing our residents, the children and members of the local community together. Getting our residents involved in the local area nurtures a sense of community responsibility which we value and treasure.

Tracy Jepson, Home Manager said:

“We love being part of the Lightwater community and the school’s visit is always guaranteed to bring big smiles and lots of laughter to our residents faces when they visit. It was lovely to have them with us for another year and to hear the Christmas carols ringing out throughout the home.”

The visit was made complete when a batch of freshly made cookies were brought out by the Moorlands chef and enjoyed by both young and old.
