Sizzling Summer Fete at the Magna

Everyone at the Magna Care Centre in Wimborne, Dorset, was watching the weather carefully in the lead up to the annual summer fete on Sauurday 21st July. The rain ceased however just in time and they were able to hold the fete in the beautiful landscaped gardens as hoped.

Entertainment was provided by the Ferndown Brass Band (pictured) and children from the out of school club ‘Showbiz Academy.’

The home’s chefs put on a fantastic sizzling barbeque and cream tea, with everyone enjoying the raffle and the stalls including hunt the egg, sale items and a cake stall.

The children took part in a number of games before the raffle was called such as an egg and spoon race, sack race and the ‘mummy’ game.

The fete raised over £500, which will go towards the residents fund and benefit everyone who lives at the purpose-built care centre.

The Magna is a stunning Care Centre providing residential and specialist nursing care for up to 65 elderly ladies and gentlemen. Located in the village of Canford Magna, near Wimborne in Dorset, Magna Care Centre enjoys commanding views over the beautiful local countryside, which is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to the abundance of rare flora and fauna.
