Scouts visit the Home of Compassion

Our local scout troop visited us to assist in making a wide selection of personalised cards.  The men and boy scouts congregated by craft tables in the cinema room and the ladies and girl scouts seemed to gravitate towards the activity room tables; we didn’t plan it this way, it just happened!

Plenty of glitter, paint, stamps and pictures were artistically thought out and executed, although it was noted the male contingent were doing more drinking tea and talking about sport rather than getting their hands dirty and channelling their inner artist.

In the activity room however, there seemed to be a production line of cards being created, one scout even painted a picture of our resident’s dog on a card so it could be sent to someone special.

After we had flexed our Monet Muscles, we all headed to the bistro for a fantastic Christmas spread put on by our kitchens with plenty of Christmas cake, mince pies and seasonal goodies.  Scouts and residents chatted merrily away whilst enjoying the culinary delights provided by our chefs.

Being part of the local community is an important part of our lives at the Home of Compassion, so if you know of any organisations that want to join us for a themed event, please do not hesitate to contact us with your ideas.  We even have a grand piano in our bistro, so choirs and musicians are very welcome indeed.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
