Down by the River for Mill House Residents

On Tuesday 18th of April, members of the Mill House care home team; Dominika, our Activity Coordinator and Maciek our Senior Maintenance Officer, took some of our residents down to the River Avon at Bidford-on-Avon on one of our regular trips out from our home in Chipping Campden.

Joan and Hazel, permanent residents at Mill House, Albert, who comes to us for day care and Denis, who recently stayed with us for short stay care all travelled together in the mini bus.

We left Mill House about 2:15 pm after everyone had their lunch. It wasn’t too warm on the day as it was quite windy and cloudy but that did not dampen our enthusiasm nor curtail our outing and we would not let the weather stop us from having a treat of ice creams by the river.

The view was fantastic of all the boats passing by. We also did some bird watching there and spotted many different species of birds. We also watched people playing with children and having picnics or barbecues.

Our residents commented on the fact it brought a lot of memories back for them and started interesting conversations ranging from nature to families and past events.

It was all too soon before it was time to come home so we drove back to Mill House to be there for afternoon tea and the biscuits. Everyone all had a fantastic time and we will definitely be back for some more time down by the river.

At Mill House care home in Chipping Campden we deliver the highest standards of residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 45 elderly residents.
